Risk Rules
When configuring these settings, we recommend consulting your Compliance Manager, AML program writer, and Venue Manager to ensure they align with your compliance obligations.
On the Risk Rules tab you can configure how the risk level that Checkd suggests is calculated. Risk rules can be tailored to suit your venue's specific AML/CTF program and directly affect the suggested risk level presented to the manager when reviewing a payout.
The risk rule configuration can also feed directly into the AML Risk Register. This is a centralised hub for Compliance Managers and Venue Managers to monitor and action flagged payouts (available upon request).
Suggested Risk Thresholds
When a payout is being reviewed, Checkd automatically calculates a total risk score based on the risk rules that have been triggered during the payout. The medium and high risk thresholds determine how that score translates into a suggested risk level presented to the manager when reviewing the payout.
Think of it like a points system — the more risk rules triggered, the higher the score. The higher the score, the higher the suggested risk rating.
For example, if your Medium Risk Threshold is set to 3 and your High Risk Threshold is set to 5:
- A payout with a score of 2 will be suggested as Low Risk
- A payout with a score of 4 will be suggested as Medium Risk
- A payout with a score of 6 will be suggested as High Risk
Please note that this is a suggested rating only. The manager reviewing the payout will always make the final decision on the risk rating before approving.
Configuring Risk Rules
Each risk rule can be individually configured with these 3 options:
- Enable/Disable
Tick to include the rule in the risk assessment for payouts at your venue - Points
Set the number of points this rule contributes to the payout's total risk score. These points are calculated during the review of a payout, giving the manager a breakdown of the elements that need to be considered before assigning a risk level. - Include in Risk Register
Tick to automatically include a payout in the AML Risk Register when this rule is triggered
